Isocrete Flowing K Screed secures industry award for its game-changing liquid screed technology

  • 13 Oct 2021

Isocrete Flowing K Screed has secured a national award in recognition of the transformational impact the new liquid screed technology system has brought to the flooring sector.

The innovative system, which offers compelling speed of application benefits, less waste and exceptional strength, has secured a Flooring Innovation Award 2021 in the Installation Products Category.

The Awards recognise everything that is genuinely new, exciting, and innovative in the UK’s flooring industry, having as judges an independent panel made up of industry leaders and commentators.

Launched earlier this year by Flowcrete, Isocrete Flowing K has already made an immediate impact in the industry.

Daniel Gill, area sales manager for Flowcrete and product manager for Flowing K, comments: “We are delighted that Isocrete Flowing K has been recognised in the Flooring Innovation Awards.

“During what has been such a difficult time for manufacturers worldwide, it’s great to be recognised for innovation in the fast-moving construction screed market. The system has already been really well-received by specifiers and contractors.

“Our ability to innovate and deliver Isocrete Flowing K to the marketplace has been a landmark point for us in Isocrete’s 50-year history, and the award is a testimony to that achievement, as well as our continuous investment in innovating our products and the supply chain in general.”

Applied strictly through Flowcrete’s licensed contractor network, which is a unique quality control guarantee in the liquid screed market, the technology offers all the benefits of the time-proven Isocrete K-Screed system.

Available in three different compressive strength formulations, it can be laid bonded, unbonded or as a floating screed and offers a lower thickness profile when compared to standard screed build ups, while its unique formulation allows the system to be trafficked in as little as 24 hours, depending on site conditions.

David Black, Construction Products Group (CPG) UK’s Flooring Sales Director, says: “This award reinforces the unique solution Isocrete Flowing K offers to specifiers and contractors.

“The system offers exceptional speed of installation, with up to 500m² able to be laid in 24 hours, making it five times faster drying than a standard screed. It complies with all relevant Building Standards, and delivers a high compressive strength, at a reduced thickness.

“However, it is not just about a great product. The key difference we are making is in the delivery and support we offer our customers, reducing traffic movements within site, enabling better waste management, improving drying time and therefore supervision costs compared with other liquid screeds, and speeding up the whole installation process.

“We have bult-in total quality throughout the process, and that’s why we offer a 10-year warranty when combined with our other flooring solutions.”

Isocrete Flowing K is an integral part of Flowcrete’s Floorzone concept, a floor build-up system which includes underfloor heating and acoustic installations, all delivered under a single-source, single-warranty programme.

Floorzone drives efficiencies in the supply chain of any new build or refurbishment project by sourcing every element of the floor directly from Flowcrete, with one point of contact and one contractor – all completed under one manufacturer’s warranty.

Flowcrete is one of Construction Product Group (CPG) UK’s portfolio of leading construction product brands, which also includes Tremco, illbruck, Vandex, Nudura and Dryvit and Nullifire.

These high-performance building materials – including roofing and waterproofing solutions, as well as sealing, bonding, insulation, fire protection systems and modern methods of construction – together provide one point of call for specifiers and contractors.

As well as exceptional products, as a CPG company, Flowcrete customers also have access to enhanced resources, including technical support from industry experts.

Full training, including CPDs, application training (both practical and theory) and on-site support such as surveys, complete the service package.
