Versatile, effective and safe: the new system completes RENOLIT ALKORPLAN’s range of PVC membranes dedicated to waterproofing. All-in-one product ensuring less material use, faster application and 100% sealing safety.
RENOLIT ALKORPRO is the result of the technology and experience of RENOLIT ALKORPLAN. This makes it versatile, effective and safe. RENOLIT ALKORPRO is the new system that arises from the need to develop a specific product for foundations and thus completes the PVC range of RENOLIT ALKORPLAN dedicated to waterproofing.
The new range has been specifically designed for the waterproofing of foundations, basements, tunnels, underground car parks and all other concrete constructions below ground level.
RENOLIT ALKORPRO uses a new generation of fully bonded membranes that provide exceptional waterproofing performance, recommended where concrete structures must be protected from groundwater, contaminants or gases such as radon.
The benefits are noteworthy. When this membrane comes into contact with concrete, the fabric is soaked into the concrete and becomes whole. In addition, the presence of the so-called SAP – Super Absorbent Polymer, a special gel that swells when in contact with water – represents an additional barrier to water in the unlikely event of a break or a cracking of the concrete.
This creates an extremely efficient redundant sealing system that prevents water from spreading if the membrane is perforated.
Axel Augustin, International Product Manager of RENOLIT ALKORPRO, explains: “In case of particularly demanding projects, I recommend the use of RENOLIT ALKORPRO technology, since it allows an absolutely safe waterproofing, with resistance to the pressure of the tested water up to 5 bar.”
The membrane can be installed in all weather conditions (from -5ºC to +60ºC), does not require a protective layer and can be laid directly on the ground.
RENOLIT ALKORPRO is characterised by its extreme versatility, since it can be pre-applied under the foundation slab or post-applied on the perimeter retaining walls.
The system offers four different types of membranes, with or without SAP technology and in transparent colours, for better visual quality control, or green, which involves a large amount of recycled raw material, ensuring sustainability. All versions are available in thickness from 1.2 mm to 2 mm depending on whether it is pre-applied or post-applied.
It is a single product with direct application that, unlike other membranes, does not require protective geotextiles, compartmentation joints and injection pipettes: an all-in-one that guarantees less material use, faster application and 100% sealing safety. This ensures easy and economical application.
The execution of the joints is also versatile and safe: in addition to the usual heat-sealing, there is also a special adhesive and an adhesive strip. All solutions are tested with excellent results. Other accessories complete the range, facilitating the execution of details. A product that uses less material and that lasts over time and therefore is more sustainable.
Francisco Moreno Marin, Technical responsible Civil Engineering of RENOLIT ALKORPLAN geomembranes, comments: “We tested the product even in extreme conditions, the results confirmed the high durability.”
The new system has been thoroughly tested by external laboratories in several European countries. The product has obtained prestigious and rigorous certifications, from the German DIN 18195, DIN 18533, DIN SPEC 20000-202 and PG-ÜBB/abP standards to the British BDA certification according to BS 8102: 2009 and NHBC TECHNICAL DATA.
The commitment to sustainability is not limited to the product. The RENOLIT production plant is in fact ISO 14001 and EMAS certified, attesting to the company’s commitment to reducing the environmental impact. It is also EuCertPlast certificated, confirming the know-how in the recycling process.
