Abloy UK’s eCLIQ achieves UK Gold standard for Retrofit PAS24 Doorsets

  • 14 Jun 2024

Abloy UK is proud to announce its eCLIQ Electronic Key/Cylinder Locking System has achieved Gold standard certification in both SS504:2024 Smart Locks for Domestic and Similar Building and SS312:2024 Cylinders for Locks from Sold Secure.

This makes eCLIQ the only mechatronic cylinder platform to receive the prestigious Secure Connected Device accreditation from Secured by Design (SBD).

The eCLIQ system offers programmable keys and secure locking cylinders that are tailored for environments such as universities, schools, hospitals, and accommodations. Designed to replace traditional master key systems, eCLIQ delivers both security and flexibility to its users.

The SBD Secure Connected Device accreditation, developed in consultation with the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT), enables companies to assess products against all 13 provisions of the ETSI EN 303 645 standard. This certification not only demonstrates compliance with legislation but also safeguards products and customers against evolving cyber needs.

With the rise of consumer IoT products, including safety-relevant devices like door locks, home automation systems, and smart home assistants, ensuring robust security measures is paramount.

PSTIA 2022

Compliance with the Product Security and Telecommunications Infrastructure Act 2022 (PSTIA 2022) is also critical, highlighting the critical need for businesses to ensure adherence to its provisions.

This legislation sets stringent requirements aimed at enhancing consumer protection and cyber security across the UK market. The regulatory framework outlined within the law encompasses three main security features including universal default password prohibition, vulnerability disclosure policy mandate and software update transparency.

“Our products are being specified more and more in large projects around the UK with the SBD certification being requested in both retrofit and new build projects within the commercial and residential markets.”

Hazel Goss, at Secured by Design, comments: “I am delighted that Abloy UK’s eCLIQ has achieved the Secure Connected Device accreditation, having met the required standards for both its physical and cyber security attributes.

“It is the first product to achieve the Sold Secure SS504:2024 Specification for smart locks for domestic and other similar buildings. eCLIQ has also achieved the IASME Level 2 IoT Cyber Assurance certificate.”
