Stoke-on-Trent MP praises Recticel developments

Stoke-on-Trent South MP Rob Flello has praised PIR insulation manufacturer Recticel for its part in people, product and plant development.

The MP formally recognised Recticel’s investment in its UK manufacturing operation, which has led to the creation of 30 new jobs in the local area this year alone.

He visited the company’s 175,000ft2 facility in Stoke-on-Trent on August 21st, when he was hosted by Recticel Commercial Director Kevin Bohea and Plant Manager Simon Harrison.

He spent time learning about the company’s development and its recent multi-million pound investment in the plant, which is now Europe’s most modern PIR manufacturing facility.

Recticel’s investment included the creation of a new line with full rebating ability – allowing for the production of better-performing insulation – which is now fully operational.

A presentation by Kevin also detailed Recticel’s research and development programme, which has produced new products to assist with better-performing homes being built within existing footprints, whilst helping to reduce energy costs for the homeowner without the need to use costly or high-maintenance renewables on a new build.

Kevin commented on the visit, saying: “It is always a pleasure to welcome politicians to our facility. We openly welcome the opportunity to engage, help and advise on how the UK can achieve energy and carbon reduction goals by building better with a fabric first approach.”
