Johnstone’s was previously presented EPD verification for three of its products earlier this year, making it the first decorative coating manufacturer to receive certification which complies with the European Standard EN 15804.

An EPD is a standardised way of assessing the full environmental impact of a product through its lifespan from raw materials and manufacturing to application, use and disposal.

Johnstone’s verified EN 15804 EPD allows architects to accurately compare competing materials form an environmental perspective and enables contractors and building owners to comply with government regulations.

EPDs are independently tested to strict standards to ensure the underlying data, data handling and EPD itself are consistently reliable.

The credibility of an EPD which meets EN 15804 ensures specifiers and architects that they are specifying products in keeping with environmental standards set by BREEAM and LEED.

Johnstone’s EPD products are also SKA Rating approved, meaning projects teams interested in fitting out spaces in an environmentally sustainable way can use Johnstone’s confidently.
