Heavy commercial sheet vinyl flooring installed at nature reserve

  • 30 Jul 2015

Designed by East Yorkshire based Salt Architects, the new visitor centre opened in April 2015.

The centre attracts visitors coming to see the 200,000 seabirds who nest in the towering half cliffs every year.

Around 240 square metres of Expona Flow heavy commercial sheet vinyl flooring was installed in Honey Beige throughout the visitor centre’s exhibition area and gift shop.

PUR Polyurethane reinforcement

The Expona Flow PUR collection of heavy commercial sheet vinyl floor coverings includes 50 wood, stone and abstract designs.

These are supplied in a 2m wide sheet format with a 2mm gauge and a 0.7mm wear layer.

The Honey Beige design is chosen from the Expona Flow’s Infinity collection. It was chosen to complement the surrounding coastal environment of Bempton Cliffs.

The linear design features beige, gold and brown tones blended together to create an endless wood effect.

Expona Flow flooring is cross linked and cured with Polyflor PUR polyurethane reinforcement to offer superior, polish-free cleaning benefits.

Safety first

Polysafe Verona PUR decorative, carborundum-free safety flooring was installed in stairwells, corridors and bathroom areas to provide sustainable wet slip resistance.

A Cookie Cream shade was chosen featuring virtually invisible safety particles and tonal decorative chips, to give the look of smooth vinyl with the performance of a safety floor.
