The Top 5 Footwear for Construction Sites
It’s not rocket science that you need to wear appropriate footwear when working on a construction site.
Just as man wouldn’t go into space without a spacesuit or a jockey wouldn’t enter a race without a horse, you should never go on a construction site without proper attire.
The chances are very high that something heavy or sharp will fall on your feet and normal trainers will simply be ineffective. Likewise, trying to climb ladders with big steel toe capped boots will only weigh you down and cause an accident.
Therefore it’s essential that you wear the right footwear. If you’re working with electricity, you need to wear non-conductive boots and if you’re handling chemicals like cement, you need rubber safety boots.
Here are the top 5 shoes specifically designed for construction sites:
Apache Vault Black Mesh Sports Safety Trainer
This shoe is one of- if not the lightest-shoe on the market which makes it perfect for going up and down ladders and scaffolding. It has an aluminium toe cap, it’s chemical resistant and it has shock absorption.
Cofra New Electrical Safety Boots
These are perfect for electricians and those working with electricity. The black water repellent leather is specifically designed for the electrical industry and the highly electrical resistant sole offers more than 2000 M-Ohm resistance.
Goliath EL170SICHM Chemical Safety Boot
These safety boots are chemical splash resistant making them ideal for construction sites. They are resilient to alkalis, fats, acid, solvents and chemicals and they have a steel toe cap, steel midsole and slip resistant outsole.
Cofra Welder Safety Boots
These safety boots are designed for welding but can be used for various other jobs on a construction site because the PU/Nitrole outsole is heat resistant to 300C at contact for one minute. It has a non-metallic 200 Joule toecap and a non-metallic 110n midsole.
Worksite SS600SM Black Chelsea Dealer
If you want an all-round general safety boot for a number of jobs onsite then these are great. They allow you to carry out many tasks in a safe and comfortable manner with energy absorption outsole and a steel 1,10n penetration resistant midsole.
Work on a construction site but not got any of these shoes? Make sure you update your footwear or it could cost you your life.
