As part of its ‘Endless Evolution’ initiative, DuPont Corian has developed the ‘Charging Surface’, a material which combines Corian surfacing with wireless charging for smartphones and tablets.
‘Endless Evolution’ is a long-term initiative, which is being exercising across Europe, Africa and the Middle East. It aims to strengthen DuPont Corian’s position as a reliable surfacing solution for the architecture, furnishing and interior design markets.
The scheme incorporates technical and marketing programs, as well as product development and innovation manufacture.
DuPont Corian’s ‘Charging Surface’ is a technologically advanced material, which directly delivers an electrical current that can be used to charge smartphones and tablets.
With integrated charging capabilities, the material can be crafted into any shape to suit individual specifications. As the surface does not need to be penetrated in order to install the technology, it offers a monolithic solution.
The system’s wireless capabilities are enabled by a unit, which is based on induction technology.
The solution is available to home owners through the members of the Corian Quality Network. It is suitable for installation in both residential and public spaces.
