The University of East Anglia has specified ASSA ABLOY’s Aperio wireless access control devices for its new student accommodation.
The Crome Court residential development offers 231 ensuite rooms in flats of 8 to 13 people. The accommodation has been designed keep CO2 emissions as low as possible.
Aperio is a smart technology which enables mechanical locks to be seamlessly linked to a new or existing access control system. In this instance, Aperio has been integrated into the Gallagher Command Centre to deliver a cost-effective solution, whilst delivering organisational security and operational continuity.
The integration is available and supported worldwide and is applicable for all industries.
Aperio is easy to install, with no structural alterations required. The system provides audit trails online, to allow for the real time monitoring of doors.
In addition, the Gallagher and Aperio systems have been developed to operate with the same data on an access card, allowing for a tighter, seamless integration.
Christine Beveridge, Head of Campus Services at University of East Anglia, commented: “ASSA ABLOY Access Control has extensive experience within the education sector and we are pleased to be piloting the system in our student accommodation and hope to roll out Aperio across all new and existing residential estate.”
Wayne Dyble, Installation & Support Manager at Check Your Security, added: “As the service provider to University of East Anglia, we found ASSA ABLOY Access Control’s service faultless, their team provided useful training to carpenters on site to assist with the installation of Aperio.”
David Hodgkiss, National Sales Manager at ASSA ABLOY Access Control, said: “University of East Anglia have been one of Gallagher’s customers for ten years, therefore it was essential that they partnered with a company they trusted when it came to extending the Gallagher Command Centre system. Having worked with us for six years – Gallagher knew we would deliver with Aperio.”
