Freefoam has seen a rise in demand for its colour roofline products, with sales increasing by up to 47%. The company attributes this growth to its patented Colormax technology.
In recent years, there has been a change in the market place, with specifiers increasingly choosing grey and black shades for windows to give their developments a contemporary finish
Freefoam’s Anthracite Grey shade, for instance, has become increasingly popular: sales of the colour roofline product have increased by 47%, with its Sable and Black shades also selling well.
In addition, the company has experienced an increase in demand for colour from commercial developments, where its range is seen as a cost-effective alternative to traditional powder coated aluminium products.
When it comes to roofline products, colour is traditionally achieved by spraying or foiling a top coat onto the product.
Freefoam has developed its own patented technology, Colormax, to tackle issues of cracking and fading. A master-batching process with a blend of PVC compound is dosed and co-extruded with specific concentrations of colour pigment to achieve the required shade.
This ensures that the colour skin and the foam core are bonded together to create a colourfast product.
Although Freefoam manufactures 10 colours as standard, its Colormax technology allows for the production of any colour, enabling the company to cater for bespoke projects.
The technology allows Freefoam to offer a wide range of colours, complete with matching fixing pins and trims, off the shelf.
