Timber windows specified for Notting Hill development

  • 27 Nov 2015

NorDan’s standard top hung outward opening timber windows have been used to introduce natural light into a new development for Notting Hill Housing.

Located in the London Borough of Islington, Canonbury Cross is a new development of shared ownership apartments and private sale townhouses for Notting Hill Housing.

Taking crescent shapes, the buildings have been designed with London Stock style yellow brick facades to complement the surrounding area.

Timber windows

Timber products from NorDan have been used to create the development’s street-side windows and the inward facing ‘picture windows’.

The company provided its standard top hung outward opening timber windows, with additional aluminium cladding to extend life in use.

Achieving 1.2 w/m2K U-values and an acoustic reduction value of 37 dBRw, the windows are particularly suitable for city developments; they can help developers achieve BREEAM SAP assessment and Lifetime Homes Standards for handle height requirements.

NorDan’s top hung fully reversible product is delivered with inbuilt safety restrictors. The company also provided the development with outward opening single and double balcony doorsets.
