Bi-parting automatic doors specified for industrial-themed New Balance HQ

A pair of bi-parting automatic doors powered by ECdrives have been installed by GEZE UK as part of the renovation of New Balance’s European headquarters in Warrington.

The project has seen the interior of Appleton House – the office complex which houses New Balance’s headquarters – transformed with an industrial gym theme that reflects the company’s product range of sportswear and New Orleans’ heritage. GEZE installed the bi-parting automatic doors at the entrance of the building’s canteen.

The canteen provides an informal meeting space for the 100+ employees based at the HQ. The area was commended as a catalyst for improved staff interaction when the company won the Best Workplace Fit Out Award held by the British Council for Offices.

The aluminium-framed glass doors separate the working space from the canteen, which features bold geometric flooring with colourful accents. The doors are finished in grey satin which was specified in keeping with the industrial theme of the interior.

The automatic doors are powered using GEZE’s ECdrives. Specifically designed for use in busy areas, the drives use GEZE’s activation technology to open the doors automatically, allowing staff to enter the canteen quickly and safely.

It also features a self-cleaning roller carriage and a low friction design to ensure it is quiet, reliable and durable.
