A Grade II Listed brewery has been remodelled into a quirky office space with the help of Selectaglaze secondary glazing.
Situated close to Bristol city centre, The Brew House was built in 1865. The former brewery has been transformed into a modern office space which retains many of its original features, including exposed brick work and arched windows.
In order to alter the building into offices, serious consideration had to be given to tackle the heat loss from the original draughty windows which could not be replaced due to the Listing of the building.
Caddy Windows specified Selectaglaze secondary glazing as an alternative solution to replacing the original windows and doors.
The secondary glazing units trap an insulating layer of air to improve thermal efficiency and cut heat loss by about 40-50%. All of the units are bespoke to ensure the tightest fit.
Over 100 units were installed using five different Selectaglaze systems, including large curved head windows, colour matched to the primary windows.
Nick Porter of Caddy Windows commented: “The products are great and the customer service we received from everyone was fantastic”
