Neil Baker achieves CPTD status

REHAU engineer achieves CPTD accreditation

  • 8 Apr 2016

One of REHAU’s Senior Engineers, Neil Baker, has become Britain’s first to achieve Chartered Technological Product Designer (CPTD) status.

Launched by the Institution of Engineering Designers (IED), the new Chartered Technological Product Designer status grants professional credit, support and registration to product designers.

This prestigious accreditation aligns them with the likes of Chartered Engineers.

CPTD status

Holding an MSc in Manufacturing Management and Technology, Neil Baker has worked at REHAU for almost 20 years.

Throughout his employment, he has made significant contributions to the design of the company’s RAUFERNO fire rated window, its Heritage vertical slider and its other flagship systems.

To qualify for CTPD status, Neil had to demonstrate his aptitude for design: he provided evidence of creative and analytical thought processes to sustainable design practices.

He has joined a small, exclusive group of CTPD status holders, including Dyson’s Global Head of Claims, Standards and Insights and Jaguar’s Director of Design.
