Suncool range of solar control products to be expanded

  • 13 Apr 2016

Pilkington UK is set to manufacture a new solar control panel this year; the latest addition to its Suncool range, Pilkington Suncool One 60/40, has been designed for use in residential and commercial settings.

The new panel is an off-line coated mid-range solar control product, which boasts a thermal insulation U-value of 1.0 W/m2K.

Designed to reflect heat back into the property it is installed upon, Pilkington Suncool One 60/40 aims to improve thermal efficiency. Medium solar control will also help the system to generate a comfortable internal temperature all year round.

The manufacture of the new product at Pilkington’s St. Helens site will enable the company to reduce lead times for its customers. The product range will be available in alternative sizes, satisfying consumer demand for smaller measurements and greater flexibility.

As the entry level product to Pilkington’s comprehensive Suncool range, Pilkington Suncool One is suitable for high-end residential properties and smaller commercial projects with variable specification requirements.

The complete range comprises Pilkington’s finest off-line coated, solar control and low-emissivity glass products to reduce energy bills, as well as carbon emissions.
