SHAP conference encourages smart investment in sustainable housing

  • 25 Apr 2016

This year’s Sustainable Housing Action Partnership (SHAP) conference will focus on how housing providers and homebuilders can finance and deliver sustainable housing projects.

“Rebuilding the Business Case for Investment in Sustainable Housing” will take place in Birmingham on May 5th. The conference, sponsored by Structherm, aims to encourage builders to look at both new-build and retrofitted sustainable housing options.

It will cover a variety of issues affecting the housing sector including the impact of climate change on housing and future solutions for affordable, sustainable homes.

The conference will feature keynote speakers, product exhibitions and workshops, with the ultimate aim of bringing together a group of parties interested in securing finance for investment in a community sustainable housing scheme.

Speakers include representatives from Adecoe, The Matrix Group, Encraft and Structherm, who will host talks on how to generate new income streams, retrofitting, data management, energy security, fuel poverty and other topics.

Sustainable Housing Action Partnership

SHAP has a large membership of stockholders which manage over a quarter-million homes, in addition to contractors, consultants, NGOs, local authorities, regulators, social housing providers and a wider network of organisations that are involved in new build housing projects.

The SHAP conference will begin at 8.45am at St Philip’s Place in Birmingham on May 5th. Existing SHAP members will benefit from six free conference places and SHAP partners benefit from one free conference place.
