Protan’s EX-A adhered system has been installed by Williams Roofing across Swindon’s Newburgh House development.
The system was specified as part of a re-roofing project comprising 43 apartments and bungalows, originally built in the 1960s.
Swindon Borough Council required an adhered system in place of the original felt to improve longevity and minimise the noise which residents would be subjected to if a mechanically-fixed option was applied.
The use of 1.5mm thick fleece-backed Protan EX-A helped to supplement the insulation to improve the development’s thermal performance.
Ideal for refurbishment projects, Protan EX-A membrane is Protan’s only adhesive system. The membrane has a proven durability of more than 30 years with air leakage controlled in line with latest Building Regulations.
EX-A is certified to ≤ -30°, so it can cope with most extreme weather conditions.
