Howarth Timber and Building Supplies has acquired Maltings Timber Merchants in a move to expand its presence in Doncaster.
Maltings Timber Merchants has been operating in Doncaster for over 30 years, supplying a large range of timber products from sustainable sources. The outlet became Howarth Timber’s 30th branch, following the purchase of the company on 31st March.
The new branch will be led by Chris Noble, who has developed a robust understanding of heavy side building products having amassed more than 17 years’ experience in the industry.
Nicholas Howarth, managing director of Howarth Timber and Building Supplies, spoke of how the acquisition will allow Howarth to establish itself in the area.
He commented: “Maltings Timber Merchants is a successful business with standards and values that match up with those of Howarth Timber. The acquisition will allow us to expand the product ranges available to customers, with building supplies added to the already excellent timber offering at the store.
With the Thorne branch of Howarth Timber located eight miles away on the outskirts of Doncaster, and led by the newly promoted regional manager John Brandon, this new branch enhances our presence in the town and ensures the region’s tradespeople are covered.
Customers can enjoy the same expert advice, quality of products and great service from the superb team employed with Maltings Timber who are now part of the Howarth team. The introduction of building materials to the product offering at the branch will also ensure the outlet offers more choice in new areas.”
