CMS Window Systems has obtained investment from LDC; the private equity firm will support the company’s plans to capitalise on the increasing demand for energy efficient building envelopes across the UK.
Founded in 2006, CMS Window Systems is a Castlecary-based company, which specialises in the production of energy efficient aluminium, PVCu and timber composite. It provides environmentally responsible windows, doors and curtain walling systems, as well as external wall insulation and building cladding solutions, for housing investment programmes and commercial building projects across the UK.
CMS’s sustainable product range includes Britain’s first zero carbon, fully-reinforced (0.8 U-value) window, and its first Quiet Mark approved acoustic PVCu window. The company’s environmental credentials are enhanced by its commitment to removing, recycling and replacing windows and doors for housing associations and the local authorities: all extracted waste is processed at its recycling facilities in North Lanarkshire and Fife.
The company’s Innovation Hub was established to showcase its energy efficient products and services. The 10,000 square foot facility, which is based at CMS’s head office facility in North Lanarkshire, also features energy-saving products from firms across the supply chain, such as Metal Technology, Saint-Gobain and Rockwool
As part of the deal with LDC, CMS’s current management team will remain as majority shareholders with the private equity firm, acquiring a minority stake. Billy Allan will join the board as non-executive chairman, bringing a wealth of industry experience with him.
CMS believes that, with LDC’s support, it is in a stronger position to continue investing in its operations. It hopes to monopolise on British companies’ increasing demands for energy efficient building solutions by scaling its business further and expanding across Scotland, as well as the rest of the UK.
