ASSA ABLOY UK Specification will be debuting its Openings Studio platform at the ‘BIM Level 3 and beyond – Moving Forward After Level 2’ event this June.
‘BIM Level 3 and beyond’ will look at the step up to the next level of BIM and the challenges that the journey will face.
Delegates will be amongst the first to see the company’s Openings Studio platform, which is due to be launched later this year. The online door and ironmongery scheduling platform has been described by ASSA ABLOY as “a vital part of any BIM toolkit in achieving BIM Level 3 ambitions.”
The platform has been created to take the burden out of scheduling doorsets by using a familiar format that architects can work with. The online tool uses shared information from a BIM model to analyse and interpret the data for door and ironmongery scheduling. Once the user is satisfied with the information provided by ASSA ABLOY’s scheduling team, the data is then imported back into the model.
Andy Stolworthy, BIM Manager for ASSA ABLOY UK Specification, will also appear the event to discuss ASSA ABLOY’s approach to BIM as a manufacturer and its adoption within the industry and future role.
Discussing the upcoming event, Andy commented: “The focus of BIM has, for many, been around meeting the government deadline and ensuring adoption in the design and build phase of a project. But the journey toward BIM Level 3 will raise more challenging questions, questions that must be addressed to meet with industry targets.
‘BIM Level 3 and Beyond’ will provide a great forum for debating some of these concerns and obstacles that we, as an industry, face in the delivery of BIM L3. As an early adopter of BIM, we look forward to discussing the future role it will play with like-minded professionals.”
ASSA ABLOY UK Specification can be found on stand 12 at ‘BIM Level 3 and beyond – Moving Forward After Level 2’, which will be held at the Renold Building, University of Manchester on 29th June.
