TIS energy saving lighting and fire systems for Sheltered Housing in Kent

  • 12 Jul 2016

TIS helped substantially reduce energy costs for Rivers Court Sheltered Housing in Kent (owned and managed by Housing and Care 21), providing a range of energy saving lighting and fire systems.

New LED lighting

TIS designed and installed new LED lighting, which uses innovative microwave and motion sensing technology for efficiency.

Substantial energy cost savings

  • enables the lighting to run at 10% until motion is detected
  • increases to 100% for a programmable length of time before reverting back to 10%

Contract also included a complete replacement to the suspended ceilings to allow for all the new lighting and fire alarm detectors and sounders to be fitted.

Richard Amatt, project manager at TIS: “Housing and Care 21 has always been a fantastic client to work with so we were thrilled to have been awarded this project in Kent. The LED lighting systems and solutions that we provided will ensure that Housing and Care 21 is not only saving substantial money on its energy bills but they are also beneficial to the home’s carbon footprint.”

Housing and Care 21 manages sites across the country, providing homes for more than 31,000 people.

Frank Ling, Housing and Care 21’s senior surveyor:  “We’ve been working with TIS for some time now. I’ve always been impressed with their knowledge and expertise.  They take the time to understand the problem to provide the best possible solutions, the quality of their work and attention to detail has always been and continues to be impressive”.
