Following the launch of its third party certified fire doors, Door-Stop has distributed an information pack, comprising a series of brochures on the legal specification of fire doors.
Local authorities, housing associations and installers are responsible for providing duty of care to those occupying a property: households, apartments and high-rise office blocks are all affected by fire safety. To ensure the safety of all individuals, it is essential to specify a fully-certified fire door.
The brochures within Door-Stop’s recently released pack have been designed for these parties; they aim to reiterate the importance of providing correctly certified, suitably installed and legal fire doors.
The information included in the brochures has been advised by the Housing Act 2004 and Regulatory Reform, Fire Safety Order (FSO) 2005.
In addition, the pack offers an installation guide, numerous fact sheets and a USB, which contains a video promoting the importance of adequately specified fire doors.
By providing its customers with all the necessary legal advice on fire door requirements, Door-Stop hopes to highlight the risks involved when a third party certified door is specified incorrectly. Installers can face a fine or prison time if a fire door they are responsible for is found to disregard the required regulations and codes.
The latest Builders Merchant Building Index (BMBI) report shows builders’ merchants’ value sales in October were up +1.2% compared to the same month last year.
