Gilberts of Blackpool has provided tailored air movement training at its in-house test laboratory, for a team of engineers from Derry Building Services (DBS).
Whilst Derry Building Services (DBS) personnel have a sound theoretical understanding of air paths and patterns, they rarely get to experience the physical effects of the grilles, diffusers and louvres they have installed.
Gilberts developed its training programme to enable DBS’ team to see the systems in practice. By demonstrating the effects of different grilles, louvres and diffusers on an internal environment, the session enlightened the engineers and gave them a better understanding of the systems.
Bespoke air movement training
The engineers saw how varying profiles and different configurations can change air paths and patterns. They also witnessed the entire production process – from concept and design to manufacture – of each system.
The training will help DBS’ employees to continue specifying the most appropriate air movement and ventilation solutions for individual projects.
Gilberts operates from an 85,000 square foot manufacturing facility in Blackpool, where the training was held. With in-house test facilities and complete software modelling on site, it is able to provide grilles, louvres and diffusers in situ.
