Offsite roofing solutions exhibited at the Build Show

IKO Polymeric experienced success at this year’s Build Show, where it exhibited its range of offsite roofing solutions.

The Build Show was held as part of UK Construction Week, at Birmingham’s NEC in October.

IKO Polymeric attracted contractors and specifiers to its stand by showcasing its comprehensive range of offsite roofing solutions: its Spectraplan and Armourplan PVC single ply roofing membranes were on display, together with its new pre-fabricated roof panel, Armourdek.

Offsite roofing solution

Comprising a single ply waterproofing membrane layer, OSB, VCL, insulation board and I-joists, IKO Armourdek is a long-span composite panel.

Manufactured with approximately 50% fewer carbon emissions, the panel can be fabricated in a range of sizes, up to 12m x 4m. This makes it particularly suitable for fast-track installations; IKO predicts that around 1,000 square metres can be successfully fitted as part of a single day’s work.

Armourdek boasts impressive environmental credentials, with zero waste to landfill; its insulation and acoustic properties are also noteworthy. IKO Polymeric reports that the roof panel attracted a lot of interest from specifiers and contractors at the Build Show.

Live hot-air welding

IKO Polymeric’s experienced field engineers also conducted live hot-air welding on the company’s stand.

The team demonstrated how Spectraplan, for example, can be welded at lower temperatures to create perfect detailing on corners and upstands; punctures can be repaired without a patch and problem creases easily fixed.

The display caught the attention of many attendees, encouraging them to engage with IKO Polymeric’s stand.
