DONG Energy supplies renewable electricity from eight offshore wind farms in the UK, backed by Renewable Energy Guarantees of Origin. The partnership comes as part of Wienerberger’s commitment to responsible sourcing and reducing the carbon footprint of its business activities.

The partnership means that Wienerberger can reduce the environmental impact of its operations, therefore providing a direct benefit to customers.

Managing Director at DONG Energy Sales UK, Jeff Whittingham explained that DONG Energy is driving the transition to low-carbon energy systems in the UK, and DONG believes that businesses should have access to renewable electricity supply without incurring additional cost.

Paul Stevenson Finance Director at Wienerberger, commented that the procurement of renewable electricity at Wienerberger is one of many steps it is taking to reduce it’s carbon footprint.
