  • 10 May 2017

Comar Architectural Aluminium Systems have become a Secure By Design Licence holder for their Comar 5P.i, Comar 9P.i and Comar 7 range of windows and doors.

The ‘Secure by Design’ police initiative was established in 1989 to encourage the building industry to design out crime, assisting in reducing the opportunity for crime and the fear of crime. The Home Office Crime Reduction Unit back the initiative and it is endorsed by the Association of Chief Police Officers.

SBD aims to improve the security of new and refurbished homes, schools and commercial projects and bring together the principles of designing out crime, effective crime prevention and security standards for various applications and products.

Comar offers the latest crime prevention features such as anti-snap and anti-bump locking systems, and stainless steel plates and protectors are used on points of attack.

Comar systems are certified and kite marked to the very latest security standards, and operate through a nationwide network of Approved Fabricators.
