Visqueen Building Products has announced the launch of its new Ultimate Gas membranes range, designed to protect against dangerous gases and chemicals on brownfield sites.
Under the pressures of population growth and housing shortages, the number of brownfield sites developments in the UK has risen significantly. This has come with the need to meet more stringent building regulations.
As brownfield areas can be prone to contamination by pollution or hazardous waste, it is important to utilise effective barrier technology when building on the land.
Building regulations and codes of practice have been put in place to ensure safety when undertaking a development project on brownfield land.
Visqueen’s new range of Ultimate Gas membranes is fully compliant with the latest standards for building on brownfield land. A comprehensive research and development programme, followed by a testing regime, has ensured that the membranes comply with the exacting requirements of BS8485:2015 and CIRIA C748.
The company has aimed to create a range of products specifically designed for different applications, from radon gas protection to VOC immersions.
To simplify the specification of its new products, Visqueen has produced a brochure with a test checklist, designed to ensure developers select the most suitable product which will deliver the level of compliance relevant to their project.
The company’s design specialists are also able to provide bespoke CAD drawings, whilst field-based technical support managers are dedicated to providing on-site assistance.
