Sadolin Superdec creates the ideal platform for Manchester International Festival

Sadolin Superdec has been used to create the ideal platform for Festival Square, the Manchester International Festival.

The design programme was led by Students from the Manchester School of Art, choosing various colours from the range to coat picnic benches, bars and DJ booths which popped up in the vicinity.

Sadolin Superdec is known for its self-priming finish, exceptional application, longevity and wide range of colour choices – available in over 300 shades.

The students chose bold colours such as Tundra, California Gold and Red Pepper in addition to Ponderosa Pine and Lapis Lazuli to deliver distinctive flashes of colour.

Sharon Smith, Crown Paints’ Trade Communication Manager, said: “It offers a highly durable opaque finish which erodes naturally by weathering, ensuring the coating remains flexible and resists cracking, peeling and flaking. The flexibility enables Sadolin Superdec to offer up to 10 years’ protection against the elements.

“The product is also self-priming and undercoating, thus reducing the need for an extra product on new wood. It also requires little preparation, and can be applied over previously decorated surfaces.”

In addition, Crown Trade also donated products for the commission ‘Manchester Street Poem’ which featured musician Karl Hyde from the band Underworld painting words around the shell of a disused shop in the city.
