REHAU‘s latest colour laminates and spray finishes are giving installers looking endless ideas for exciting and innovative PVC-U window and door installations.
Colour windows can significantly alter the exterior of a property, which research showing they now comprise one in four PVC-U window installations.
Previously, foils have only been possible for wood effects but the newest trends are seeing more contemporary shades of black and grey used to mimic the minimalist aesthetic of aluminium windows.
These darker shades soften the appearance of sightlines and made any property appear more modern.
Welsh window and door fabricators GRM are spearheading this change in colour trend, as one of the few REHAU sole accredited Acryl II colour coating system specialists and an active user of REHAU’s laminate foils collection.
GRM recently underwent its first ever Midnight Black installation at a Bridgend home. The new colour was launched by REHAU at this year’s (2017) FIT Show and has been well received, with people heralding its contemporary look.
All REHAU high performance foil finishes are durable, scratch resistant, with cleaning extremely easing, meaning the new look of them will last. The laminate is resistant to UV light, heat and the weather, so you can be assured the colour will not deteriorate over time.
Richard Gambling, managing director at GRM, described colour finishes for PVC-U as ‘one of the most exciting things to happen to the glazing industry’, also stating that increased consumer demand is creating a huge scope for this area to develop moreso in the future.
Meg Durrell, Product Assistant at REHAU commented on the fact that, as the fenestration market moves towards premium products and higher value installations, it is important to talk to customers about colours to transform conventional PVC-U windows into a statement installation.
