Wavin will be debating the future of drainage at this year’s ecobuild show, where calls for more holistic drainage solutions will be heard and discussed.
This comes as new research suggests Britain’s biggest towns and cities face the risk of increased flooding, with stormwater management is becoming ever more so important.
Wavin, the UK’s leading manufacturer of plastic piping systems, will be holding the conversation at ecobuild, which takes place at ExCeL London from 6th to 8th Match, comprising part of the Future of Drainage campaign, designed to raise awareness of the threat of urban flooding.
It has been created by Wavin, in tandemwith ecobuild and the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE), to promote involvement and action from every sector of the built environment.
Martin Lambley, Product Manager for Foul, Water and Utilities Management at Wavin, said they have teamed up with the ICE and ecobuild to get debate going and develop a platform for which ideas can be encouraged and solutions can be sought.
Wavin will have two stands at ecobuild; stand E141 – showcasing its latest products and sustainable urban drainage solutions (SuDS) and stand F142 – focusing on the Future of Drainage campaign.
Stand F142 will also feature an interactive flood tank, allowing visitors to observe how major cities could look after a serious flooding event, plus the chance to get involved in some great giveaways, such as waterproof phone pouches, and help Wavin raise money in support of the WaterAid charity.
