CLIQ® chosen to protect REWE’s new logistics centre

  • 9 Mar 2018

A CLIQ® locking system was recently chosen to protect German supermarket REWE Group’s full-range national warehouse in the north of Berlin.

Specialist security company Guett-Dern GmbH planned and installed the locking system at the new logistics centre which supplies goods to supermarkets between Sassnitz and Jüterborg. Over €600 million has been invested to optimise logistics and make processes faster, more effective and more efficient and ecologically sustainable.

Security was very important to REWE Group, requiring entrances to the logistics centre’s buildings to be equipped with electronic locks to enable them to be managed centrally and to integrate internal doors according to their requirements. A flexible locking system was needed to enable all access entitlements and locking hierarchies to be tailored to each individual.

Consequently, CLIQ® was specified and installed by security specialists and ASSA ABLOY partner Guett-Dern. The system integrated advanced microelectronics into locking cylinders and their programmable and battery-powered keys. Therefore, allowing locking cylinders and keys to communicate with one another wirelessly, making access and locking doubly secured.

REWE Group also benefits from the programmable keys and cylinders of the CLIQ® locking system from ASSA ABLOY. Each key has an integrated chip inside, making each key unique and programmable for every individual user.
