Bull Products is to supply its innovative Cygnus Fire Alarm System for Quartermile, one of Scotland’s largest regeneration schemes.
Located in Edinburgh, Quartermile will contain a cosmopolitan mixture of luxury apartments, vibrant cafes and thriving businesses in a prime city centre position.
The project, expected to worth approximately £400m once complete, will include over 1,000 apartments, a hotel, 300,000 square feet of office space, plus 78,000 square feet of leisure space for bars and restaurants.
Bull will supply over 145 of its Cygnus Fire Alarm devices, including the Fire Call Point and Heat Detectors, guaranteeing workers have thorough protection over the course of the project.
Bull’s mobile detection product will also feature, being incorporated into the fire point stations.
The mobile detection device offered a perfect solution for the Quartermile project, as contractors needed a solution that would not affect the ceilings due to hazardous substances.
The Cygnus radio system has already featured on some of the biggest construction projects nationwide, including Bond Street station, Crossrail, and Battersea Power Station.
It has been designed for use on construction sites where changing site conditions and environments require a vastly improved performance from the radio than those found in conventional wireless fire systems.
Matthew Trigwell, Sales Director at Bull Products, commented: “Our portfolio of project wins emphasises the versatility of our Cygnus alarm system and that it can be used for any project during the construction phase, no matter what the requirements.
“We’re excited to be working on this major development and providing our range of life-saving fire protection equipment.”
