The door, window and curtain walling systems improve aesthetics

Senior’s aluminium SMR800 curtain wall system was specified by CPMG architects for the building’s entrance, staircase and along the length of the canteen in order to encourage natural light to come into the building.

The SMR800 medium rise system was installed by Dortech and is fully weather tested to the requirements of CWCT, achieves a high level of weather and thermal performance and is compartmentally drained.

SPW600 aluminium window systems were chosen to allow for interior ventilation and air circulation, with the 75mm thermally broken system being compatible with both the SCW and SMR800 systems.

Also used was Senior’s SCW curtain wall system to ensure a consistent and clean line that allows tenants of a building to gain a clear view of busy external areas.

SPW500 and SD doors from Senior were also specified for use at Outwood, with the systems offering a high performance and thermally improved choice for environments such as schools, whilst the SD system provides an anti-finger trap feature for extra resilience.

Wates Construction built the 10.651-square metre academy through the Adapt Schools Solutions design approach following the government axing of the Building Schools for the Future programme.
