As a part of their commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion in the construction industry, Hambleside Danelaw have signed up to the Construction Inclusion Coalition (CIC).
Established by the BMF and 10 major organisations, the CIC has made it their aim to improve and develop inclusion in the sector. It launched alongside polling results which showed only one third (36%) of British people would feel confident that their female family or friends would be safe and respected if they joined the construction industry.

Hambleside Danelaw is taking on The Built on Better Pledge. The CIC is calling for organisations across the industry, including housebuilders, manufacturers, logistics providers and suppliers, to join the Coalition and take the pledge to champion equity, diversity and inclusion within their workplaces.
The 2021 Census recorded 30.4 million women and girls living in England and Wales; equalling 51% of the population. Despite that, the national average in the UK construction industry of female workers is just 15%.

Women represent 28.57% of the workforce at Hambleside Danelaw. Bethany Smith, Marketing Manager at Hambleside Danelaw, says:
“While we are, as a business, above the national average for percentage of women workers, we recognise there is more we can do to support women into the industry. The first step towards that is transparency.”
Hambleside Danelaw is committed to increasing inclusion in this industry; encouraging and supporting women in the construction sector represents a significant opportunity to narrow the skills gap, and joining the Constriction Inclusion Coalition evidences this commitment.
Hambleside Danelaw has manufactured high-quality GRP roofing products for 50 years. With a highly skilled workforce, many with over 20 years’ service, the business is committed to delivering exceptional quality from its state-of-the-art manufacturing facility.
