UK System Houses opt in for FENSA Window & Doorset Energy Ratings

  • 29 Apr 2016

UK System Houses, fabricators and installers have began opting in to the FENSA Window & Doorset Energy Ratings – with many doing so at the FIT Show 2016.

The FENSA Window & Doorset Energy Ratings are independently verified by BFRC. The energy ratings are operated identically to the existing BFRC scheme in terms of ratings, ratings bands, licence scopes and windows and doors covered.

The FENSA branded labels will cover windows and doors rated ‘A++’ to ‘G’ and will have their own marketing support.

FENSA certified installers can opt in to the FENSA Window & Doorset Energy Ratings for free, however installers need to be supplied by registered fabricators, as the product installed will carry a Simplified Energy Licence from the fabricator.

A recent survey conducted on FENSA Window & Doorset energy rating (WERs/DSERs) suggested that 39% of installers would like to have their current fabricator to sign up for FENSA WERs/DSERs.

BFRC is currently working with installers to sign up fabricators.

Existing BFRC Authorised Retailers can easily switch to be a FENSA Authorised Installer by emailing BFRC.
